Bride’s Dress – Back Detail. Laced back closure, attached fissu, and ribbon detailed back seams (2011)

It’s been quite a trip down memory lane (and tedious sorting through photos of past projects) in my attempt to properly archive the various items I created under my previous business name. It has also made me kick myself repeatedly for not properly documenting many of the things I’ve made for clients, and myself. Luckily in some cases I will be remedying this. In the near future I plan to haul out a bunch of my older projects, especially things I’ve made for myself and photograph them. I often forget about these items, and their contribution to my ongoing sewing education.

The 1956 Elna Supermatic. My first Elna.

I’ve also been working on a page dedicated to the tools I use to build my custom wares.  This page will mainly be of interest to fellow sewing and vintage enthusiasts. The first instalment concerns my collection of sewing machines. All of them are at least 50 years old, but still see useful employment thanks to their well built mechanics and some TLC.

I hope to add to both of these pages soon.

Love Heather
